Ramin Mamedov: Religious Values Must Serve Human Dignity
Religious values should serve human dignity, compassion, justice, mutual respect, social solidarity, and peace.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this was stated by the Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Ramin Mammadov at a conference on the topic "Educating Youth in the Spirit of National and Spiritual Values" in Baku.
He noted that there is no contradiction between Azerbaijan's secular state model and religious and spiritual values.
"On the contrary, freedom of religion, the principles of the rule of law, secularism, and respect for national and spiritual values are principles that strengthen the social stability and solidarity of Azerbaijani society and complement each other. Sometimes the impression is created that one must choose between protecting national values and integrating into the modern world," he said.
According to Mammadov, the main goal in this context is to raise literate and responsible citizens with open-minded thinking who do not merely use technologies but can also assess their impact, who know their rights and understand their responsibilities.
