Putin: Azerbaijan supports the implementation of the North-South corridor
Azerbaijan supports the implementation of the North-South international transport corridor and considers this project promising.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the plenary session of the Valdai International Discussion Club.
"I want to draw attention to the fact that part of the route must pass through the territory of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan agrees with the implementation of this project and considers it promising," Putin said.
The Russian President also announced the readiness of the Russian side to allocate the necessary credit resources for the implementation of the project.
"As for the North-South international transport corridor, we are ready to allocate credit resources. We have the corresponding financial resources earmarked," he noted.
According to Putin, at this stage the Iranian side needs to carry out its part of the work, in particular to purchase the lands through which the route must pass.
