President Ilham Aliyev received the head of the Chechen Republic

On October 10, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the Head of the Chechen Republic of the Russian Federation Ramzan Kadyrov.

As Azertag reports, welcoming the guest, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said:

- I am glad to see you again on Azerbaijani soil. Welcome.

Although this is a short visit, I think it will be very fruitful.

The brotherly relations between our peoples, as we well know, have an ancient history, and today we demonstrate solidarity, friendship, and cooperation.

I congratulate you on all the successes achieved in the active and dynamic development of the Chechen Republic. We rejoice in your successes and wish you new achievements in the development of the republic and the improvement of well-being.

You are always welcome here, you know that.

Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov said:

- Dear Ilham Heydarovich, Azerbaijan and the Chechen Republic have always been connected by many things. For me personally, these are the brotherly relations between the President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev and the first President of the Chechen Republic of Russia Akhmat Kadyrov, may Allah have mercy on them. They both stood for peace, stability, and good-neighborly relations, therefore my visit here is a visit to brothers, not to neighbors.

I would like once again, on my own behalf and on behalf of the entire Chechen people, to express deep condolences in connection with the crash of the Baku-Grozny plane in December 2024. This is our shared pain.

We sincerely share the grief of the brotherly Azerbaijani people and pray for the souls of all those who perished.

Dear Ilham Heydarovich, taking this opportunity, I would like to congratulate your people on the resolution of the Karabakh issue. I am confident that there will always be peace and stability in the region.

These days, the World Judo Championship is being held in Baku. I would like to congratulate your athletes on their worthy results. In the Chechen Republic, there is an Olympic Training Center for Judo named after Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. I am confident that joint sporting events will be beneficial.

Ilham Heydarovich, thank you very much for the warm reception. From the bottom of my heart, I wish the Azerbaijani people peace, stability, well-being, and prosperity.

Thank you once again for the warm reception.

President Ilham Aliyev said:

- Thank you for your kind words. Once again, welcome. You very rightly noted: our parents stood at the origins of the modern relations between our peoples, although, as I said, for centuries Chechens and Azerbaijanis have always lived in friendship, harmony, and supported each other.

But our great leaders at the current stage of development played the main role in bringing our peoples even closer together. And the way the memory of Akhmat-Hadji Kadyrov is honored in Chechnya, and Heydar Aliyev in Azerbaijan, also demonstrates the commitment of our peoples to their traditions, way of life, and respect for the memory of those who stood at the origins of modern development.

Once again, I congratulate you. I observe, I see, I am briefed on how rapidly the Chechen Republic is developing under your leadership. This sincerely delights us. You have achieved very great successes in strengthening stability, security, and economic and social development.

This is not your first visit to Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is, I know, a close country for you. And I am confident that in the future we will also see you often in Azerbaijan. Once again, welcome.

Head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov: Thank you very much.

President Ilham Aliyev: Thank you.
