Sami Yusuf presented a song dedicated to Karabakh

World-renowned singer Sami Yusuf has released a song titled Qarabağımsan ("You Are My Karabakh").

The artist announced this himself on his social media accounts.

He noted that the composition had been prepared five years ago.

According to the performer, the work is a kind of love letter addressed to the people of Karabakh and this beautiful land. The song was written during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The musicians and choir members recorded their parts on different days and nights. Many of them are artists of the State Philharmonic, while others are renowned masters of traditional Azerbaijani musical instruments. I express my sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which commissioned this work, and especially to Professor Sevda Mammadaliyeva, who became the main driving force behind the project," S. Yusuf wrote in his post.

It should be noted that the lyrics of the song were written by Ayten Ismikhanova.
