SOCAR Surpassed 83% of Oil and Gas Companies in S&P Global Assessment
The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) scored 50 out of 100 in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability rating and outperformed 83% of companies in its industry group.
According to SOCAR, approximately 12,500 companies participated in the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) for 2026.
As of October 9, SOCAR performed better than 83% of companies assessed in the Oil & Gas Upstream & Integrated industry group, which comprises oil and gas production enterprises and integrated energy companies.
SOCAR noted that the result reflects the consistent implementation of the sustainable development agenda and progress in integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into corporate governance and operational activities.
As part of the assessment, the company provided over 95% of the information requested by S&P Global across more than 1,000 indicators. This result demonstrates SOCAR's commitment to sustainability disclosure and the improvement of transparent reporting practices.
S&P Global evaluates companies' sustainability performance based on industry-specific criteria. Results are determined on a scale from 0 to 100 points, after which participants' scores are compared with the results of other companies in the corresponding industry group.
