President Erdogan: Turkey sincerely strives to contribute to peace and stability in the South Caucasus

Turkey not only monitors processes in the South Caucasus but also sincerely seeks to contribute to ensuring peace and stability in this region. We perceive the joint declaration signed on August 8 in Washington with the participation of the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia as a positive step in this area. We expect further initiatives in this direction.
This was stated, as reported by BAKU.WS, by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking at the 12th summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Gabala.
The Turkish leader expressed satisfaction with his visit to Azerbaijan, calling Gabala "a reflection of the ancient culture of the Turkic world."
The President of Turkey once again congratulated the leaders of Turkic states on October 3 - the Day of Cooperation of Turkic States.
According to him, Ankara is ready to contribute to strengthening cooperation in the Turkic world in all areas, including defense. "Over the past 16 years, our organization has achieved significant successes, to which new achievements are being added," stated the Turkish leader, emphasizing the importance of consolidation and cooperation among OTS countries "against the backdrop of the crisis in international law" and "inaction of the UN Security Council on many issues."
Recep Tayyip Erdogan pointed to the special relevance of the current summit's theme, calling the choice of agenda "very timely and significant."
According to the President of Turkey, the OTS should also maintain close contact with other international structures. In this regard, he emphasized the importance of the "OTS plus" format agreed upon in Gabala.
President Erdogan noted that the Turkic world can play a more active role in ensuring stability and security in the region.
