Under the chairmanship of Azerbaijan, a meeting of the Committee of Senior Officials of CICA was held

A regular meeting of the CICA Senior Officials Committee was held at the administrative building of the Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in the city of Astana, chaired by the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The agency was informed about this by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan.

At the Committee meeting, the events conducted within the framework of the Republic of Azerbaijan's chairmanship of CICA under the theme "A Stronger CICA: Digitalization, Connectivity and Sustainable Development in Asia," aimed at strengthening trust and expanding cooperation among member states, were discussed.

The chairmanship presented information on the progress of the agenda for transforming CICA into an international organization, including progress in negotiations on the corresponding draft Charter, and an exchange of views on the positions of member states took place.

At the meeting, preliminary discussions were held on issues related to preparations for the CICA Summit, which will be held this year in the city of Baku, as well as on drafts of possible outcome documents of the Summit proposed by the Azerbaijani chairmanship.

In addition, in accordance with the Committee's agenda, issues related to the development of the composition and structure of the CICA Secretariat, the expansion of its international partnerships, as well as conceptual documents on priority areas within various dimensions of the Conference's cooperation were discussed.

An exchange of views also took place on other issues of mutual interest within the CICA space, including its institutional development, initiatives put forward within this framework, and events conducted.
