MEDIA organized an event dedicated to National Press Day - PHOTO

The Media Development Agency of Azerbaijan (MEDİA) organized an event dedicated to July 22 - National Press Day.

As Report informs, the chairman of the Supervisory Board of MEDİA, deputy chairman of the board of AZERTAJ Dagbeyi Ismayilov stated that the 151-year history of the Azerbaijani national press has played an important role in the socio-political and cultural life of the country.

He emphasized that the media policy established by national leader Heydar Aliyev is being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, and also noted the importance of preserving the traditions of the national press and passing them on to future generations.

Member of the Milli Majlis, editor-in-chief of the newspaper İki sahil Vugar Rahimzade stated that the Azerbaijani national press played an important role in the formation of national consciousness, enlightenment ideas, and the development of society.

Deputy chairperson of the Press Council Saadat Mammadova in her speech pointed to the importance of the principles of ethical journalism, professional solidarity, and cooperation between media entities in the modern information environment.

It was noted that media representatives bear an important responsibility for forming a reliable information environment and providing society with accurate information.

Deputy chairman of the CJSC "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting" Rafig Hashimov emphasized the role of television and radio in educating society, preserving national-spiritual values and cultural heritage. According to him, in modern conditions, professionalism, promptness, and public trust in media are of particular importance.

At the conclusion of the event, a video dedicated to the history of the development of the Azerbaijani national press was shown.
