Ilham Aliyev: The creation of infrastructure is complemented by the restoration of the historical and cultural appearance of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur

The development of infrastructure is accompanied by the organization of modern social services in settlements.

As reported by AZERTAC, this is stated in the address of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the participants of the VI Azerbaijan International Exhibition "Reconstruction, Restoration and Development of Karabakh" - Rebuild Garabagh.

"40 educational and 20 medical institutions, as well as Karabakh University in Khankendi, have begun operating in the region. Coverage of government, banking, postal and communication services is expanding. Administrative centers built and commissioned in Lachin, Zangilan, Fuzuli and Aghdam allow for the prompt provision of services to the population in the areas of social security, employment and other fields within a single space.

The creation of infrastructure is complemented by the restoration of the historical and cultural character of Karabakh and East Zangazur. The restoration of historical, cultural and religious monuments destroyed and damaged during the occupation, as well as the creation of modern tourism infrastructure, serve to protect the rich heritage of the region, revive its cultural and spiritual life, and realize its tourism potential.

The revival of the region also includes the elimination of the environmental consequences of the occupation. During the occupation, 54,300 hectares of forest were destroyed and land and water resources were polluted. To date, 600 hectares of forest fund have been restored. The restoration of forest and water ecosystems, the application of construction solutions resilient to the effects of climate change are of particular importance for the long-term development of the region," the address of the head of state reads.
