Hikmet Hajiyev stated that his words were distorted by a Turkish publication
Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev stated that certain remarks attributed to him by a Turkish publication had been presented in a distorted manner.
He wrote about this on the social network X.
According to Hikmet Hajiyev, a substantive meeting took place during the visit of Turkish media representatives to Azerbaijan. However, in the article by Yılmaz Bilgen, a journalist from Türkiye Gazetesi, published on August 5, 2026, a number of statements attributed to him do not correspond to reality.
"I would like to emphasize once again that the Republic of Azerbaijan, guided by its national interests, pursues an independent and principled foreign policy," Hikmet Hajiyev stated.
