Guinea's Minister: The Housing Issue Is a Fundamental Right of Every Citizen
"The housing issue is a fundamental right of every citizen."
As reported by BAKU.WS, this statement was made by Mohamed Lamine Si Wanne, Minister of Urban Planning, Housing Construction, and Territorial Development of the Republic of Guinea, West Africa, in response to journalists' questions during the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku.
According to him, "housing provision" on a global scale means guaranteeing every citizen's access to decent and safe housing conditions, regardless of their place of residence.
The minister emphasized that housing policy should not be limited to construction alone - it must take into account infrastructure development, align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and simultaneously serve to protect the environment.
Samadri highly praised Azerbaijan as a country implementing development goals and remaining committed to international obligations. He paid special attention to compliance with the commitments adopted at the African Forum held last month in Nairobi.
"The main goal of the forum is to strengthen sustainability and cooperation between social housing policy and environmental protection against the backdrop of climate change," stated Romer Lamine Samadri.
