In the US, they speculated on the date of the opening of the Strait of Hormuz
The Strait of Hormuz will be open no later than summer 2026.
This was stated by U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright, whose words are quoted by CNBC.
"Movement through the Strait of Hormuz will resume as soon as possible, but no later than this summer," Wright suggested.
The secretary assured that if Iran "continues to hold the global economy hostage, the American military will open the Strait of Hormuz by force, but it is not a simple task."
"We have taken the first steps in that direction, but it is better to reach a deal without resorting to military force," Wright added.
In late April, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Mojtaba Khamenei, stated that Iran plans to continue controlling the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. According to Khamenei, Tehran intends to ensure security without an American presence.
