American restrictions on Russian oil have come back into force
The license issued by the United States for the supply of Russian oil expires on May 16.
This is reported by RIA Novosti.
On April 17, the U.S. Department of the Treasury authorized transactions involving Russian oil and petroleum products for the second time, specifically those already aboard tankers at sea as of April 17.
The document is valid until 00:01 local time on May 16 (08:01 Baku time). Prior to this, Russian oil had been exempted from sanctions in March amid the crisis in the Middle East caused by the war waged by the U.S. and Israel against Iran.
It should be noted that on May 14, as reported by Bloomberg citing sources, India requested the United States to extend the authorization for the sale of Russian oil, which expires on May 16.
