This thought was expressed by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev during a joint press statement with US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan in Washington.

At this significant meeting, Ilham Aliyev stated that Donald Trump deserves the Nobel Prize for bringing Azerbaijan and Armenia together for the first time in many years and taking significant steps in the name of peace. Nikol Pashinyan also supported this position.

It should be noted that recently US President Donald Trump was nominated for the "Nobel Peace Prize" for his key role in the "historic peace agreement" between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.

His candidacy was put forward by Norwegian Parliament member Christian Tybring-Gjedde.

In his letter to the Nobel Committee, he noted that Trump has done very important work in establishing relations between Israel and the UAE. He also emphasized that this agreement will transform the Middle East into a region of stability and prosperity.

The Azerbaijani public and political circles fully support the opinion of Head of State Ilham Aliyev that Trump deserves the "Nobel Peace Prize".

Well-known political scientist Aziz Alibeyli in his commentary for BAKU.WS stated that Azerbaijan has a direct right to put forward such an initiative.

In his opinion, Trump was indeed able to do what no world power leader had been able to do for many years. He brought together the heads of states that had been in a state of acute conflict and war for more than 30 years.

"To the question of whether US President Donald Trump deserves the Nobel Prize, one must answer only one thing: Azerbaijan's role in creating the foundation for this prize is also significant.

Azerbaijan's resources play a major role in this direction. Azerbaijan has the moral right to make proposals about who should be awarded the Nobel Prize.

The second impressive aspect of this issue is related to the Azerbaijani problem. The steps taken to sign a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the initialing of this project also mean the recognition of Azerbaijan's victory at the most powerful tribune in the world. The President did not note this by accident," the expert stated.
