In the state budget of Azerbaijan for 2024, 3 billion 492.9 million manats have been allocated for special defense projects and activities.

This is reported by Report with reference to the draft law "On the implementation of the state budget for 2024," which is being discussed today at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on economic policy, industry and entrepreneurship.

According to the document, as part of measures to strengthen the social protection of servicemen of the Azerbaijani army, carried out in accordance with the decree of the President of Azerbaijan dated December 28, 2011, 35 million manats have been allocated from the 2024 state budget for expenses related to providing housing for servicemen.

With these funds, a total of 512 fully renovated apartments at the disposal of the State Housing Construction Agency have been purchased. The transfer of these apartments to the ownership of military personnel has been formalized.

The expenses of departments and organizations financed from the defense and national security section of the 2024 state budget, due to additionally received funds beyond the allocations from the state budget (extra-budgetary expenses), amounted to 21.7 million manats. This is 5 million manats, or 29.9%, more compared to 2023.
