SOCAR and World Bank discussed prospects for cooperation
On January 26, the President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovshan Najaf met with the World Bank's Director for Infrastructure in Europe and Central Asia Charles Cormier.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to SOCAR, at the meeting satisfaction was expressed with the long-term bilateral cooperation, and the strategic importance of jointly implemented projects, including the Southern Gas Corridor, for Europe's energy security was noted.
It was also emphasized that SOCAR is one of the active participants in the World Bank's initiative "Zero Routine Flaring by 2030."
During the meeting, information was presented about projects implemented by SOCAR in accordance with its global expansion strategy, as well as in the areas of decarbonization and digitalization of enterprises. The World Bank representative was informed that the SOCAR Carbamide plant was included in the prestigious Global Lighthouse Network of the World Economic Forum.
The parties also reviewed cooperation prospects, exchanged views on fair energy transition, cost-effective energy resources, green energy corridors, and other issues of mutual interest.
