Zelensky stated that Putin wants to repeat the Crimea scenario

Russian President Vladimir Putin seeks to repeat the Crimea scenario, trying to exchange a pause in the war for the retention of occupied territories. Ukraine is preparing to respond to prevent the division of the country.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the statement of Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.

"Contacts with the American side continue almost around the clock - at different levels - and we don't make everything public. Everyone can clearly see Putin's tactics," the president noted.

According to him, the head of the Kremlin "fears sanctions and is doing everything to escape from them."

"He wants to exchange a pause in the war, in killings, for the legalization of the occupation of our land - he wants to receive territorial spoils for the second time. They allowed him to take Crimea, and this led to the occupation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions," Zelensky added.

Recall that the annexation of Ukraine's Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol was carried out by Russia in February-March 2014 and was not recognized by most of the international community.
