Trump will request a record national security budget from Congress

US President Donald Trump will request a record $1.01 trillion from Congress for national security in the 2025 fiscal year.
This was reported by Bloomberg agency, citing sources in the administration.
The funds are planned to be directed toward developing the Golden Dome missile defense system, modernizing shipbuilding, and nuclear energy infrastructure. The budget also provides for a 3.8% salary increase for military personnel. Earlier, on April 8, Trump announced defense spending of about $1 trillion.
On May 1, it became known that US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and his deputy Alex Wong were dismissed after a scandal involving correspondence in the Signal messenger with leaked classified data. It is expected that other employees will also be fired, but the list of names is not yet known. This is the first major reshuffle in Trump's inner circle since he took office. After this, Trump announced that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio would temporarily serve as the President's National Security Advisor.
