Trump made another decision dangerous for Ukraine

Donald Trump's administration has blocked the delivery of 49 American M1A1 Abrams tanks that Australia planned to transfer to Ukraine. This was reported by the German newspaper Bild citing sources in government circles.
In October 2024, Canberra announced military aid to Kyiv worth 138 million euros, including the supply of Abrams tanks. However, the US exercised its right to control the end use of exported weapons and refused re-export, despite the fact that the tanks were transferred to Australia about 30 years ago.
An Australian official noted that Washington fears finding itself in an awkward situation if the tanks are on their way to Ukraine at the moment of concluding a possible peace agreement.
The Ukrainian side stated that the cessation or delay of military support from the US may lead to losses at the front but will not cause a complete defeat. President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that Kyiv was prepared for such a development.
