According to information from Bloomberg, the United States has allegedly returned nuclear weapons to British territory, thereby sending a "direct and clear" signal to Moscow.

It is noted that the operation was conducted demonstratively, with deliberate violation of unwritten secrecy norms. A C-17 military transport aircraft that departed on July 16 from Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico, where American nuclear weapons are stored, headed to the British base at Lakenheath. The key point is that the aircraft's transponder remained on throughout the entire route, making its movement traceable through open sources.

According to military analyst William Alberque from the Pacific Forum, the flight was carried out by the "Prime Nuclear Airlift Force of the US Air Force," and its demonstrative nature is not accidental. He stated that this action is a kind of "advance" that strengthens NATO's deterrence strategy. The activated transponder was meant, in his opinion, to emphasize Washington's readiness to intensify confrontation and unwillingness to reduce nuclear presence in Europe.

Experts suggest that this could involve the delivery of new B61-12 thermonuclear bombs with adjustable yield from 0.3 to 50 kilotons to Great Britain. These munitions are designed for high-precision strikes. Hans Kristensen, a representative of the Federation of American Scientists, reported that there are "compelling reasons" to believe that nuclear weapons have indeed returned to British territory.

It is also emphasized that Great Britain is actively participating in the process: earlier, London announced the purchase of F-35A fighters capable of carrying B61-12 bombs, and the Ministry of Defence officially restored the nuclear function of the Royal Air Force - for the first time since the Cold War.

Thus, a more flexible nuclear infrastructure is being formed in the European direction, which, according to experts, is designed to compensate for Russia's advantage in the field of non-strategic nuclear weapons.
