Scientists discovered an isolated world in a Vietnamese cave
World 205

The giant Hang Son Doong cave, located in Vietnam, is the largest in the world. Its length is more than 6500 meters, and its volume reaches an impressive 38.5 cubic meters. The scale of this natural phenomenon is so vast that a completely isolated unique natural complex has formed inside, separate from the outside world.

Despite numerous expeditions, scientists have still not been able to fully explore all the space of the cave – its endpoint remains unknown. The interior space of Son Doong amazes the imagination: it has its own ecosystem with lush jungles, a full-fledged river, and diverse fauna adapted to underground conditions.

Specialists believe that human civilization has left almost no traces in this underground world, preserving it in its pristine state. According to preliminary estimates by researchers, the total length of the cave may reach nine kilometers, although this hypothesis requires additional verification and confirmation.

According to scientific data, the formation of the Son Doong cave began about two million years ago as a result of erosion processes, when underground waters gradually washed away rock formations. There is a possibility that this process continues today, as the endpoint of the underground tunnel remains unexplored.

The river flowing inside the cave has created conditions for the formation of a unique ecosystem capable of existing in the absence of sunlight. Scientists do not rule out that unknown living organisms may inhabit the remote corners of this underground world, reports "MediaPotok".
