Prince Harry decided to change his surname

Prince Harry is considering abandoning his royal surname Mountbatten-Windsor in favor of the surname Spencer, which was carried by his late mother, Princess Diana. However, relatives on his mother's side strongly advise him to refrain from such a decision, reports the Daily Mail.
According to reliable sources, the Duke of Sussex is seriously considering adopting his maternal surname, which would mean completely abandoning the use of the Mountbatten-Windsor surname - the family name of the British royal family.
During his recent visit to the United Kingdom, Harry met with his uncle Charles Spencer, who lives in Northamptonshire, to discuss this delicate matter. Spencer frankly warned his nephew about the serious legal complications he would inevitably face.
"They had a very friendly conversation, during which Spencer strongly recommended that he abandon this idea," shared a close friend of Harry.
British media note that such a change of surname would likely deal a serious emotional blow to the prince's relationship with his brother William and father Charles III. Harry's desire only "emphasizes the significant estrangement in the royal family."
It is worth remembering that Mountbatten-Windsor is the official surname of the descendants of the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
The birth certificates of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's children officially list the names Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
