Child fell into a coma after eating Haribo candies

In the Netherlands, one of two children who ate Haribo Happy Cola F!ZZ gummy candies ended up in a coma. This was reported by NL Times, citing local authorities.
According to the Netherlands Food Safety Authority, cannabis was found in one of the batches of these candies at the end of May. The products were immediately removed from sale.
The incident occurred in the city of Almelo, and both children were hospitalized. Their condition is now assessed as stable.
The hospital refused to disclose details of the incident in the interests of the family. Police are investigating, trying to establish how the narcotic substance ended up in children's sweets.
