NATO Secretary General named Russia's next target
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, during a speech at an event in the German capital Berlin on Thursday, December 11, stated that the alliance countries are "Russia's next target."
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by the British newspaper The Guardian.
"I am here today to tell you where NATO stands and what we must do to stop the war before it begins. And for this, we need to clearly understand the threat: we are Russia's next target, and we are already in danger," emphasized the Secretary General.
According to him, although the decision to accelerate defense spending at the NATO summit in The Hague earlier this year is welcome, "this is not a time for self-praise." "I'm afraid too many are quietly complacent. Too many don't feel the urgency. And too many believe that time is on our side. It is not. The time to act is now. Allies' defense spending and production must grow quickly. Our Armed Forces must have everything they need to ensure our security," Rutte emphasized.
He noted that Russia "has become even more audacious, reckless, and ruthless towards NATO and Ukraine." "During the Cold War, President Ronald Reagan warned about the aggressive impulses of the evil empire. Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin is again engaged in empire building," Rutte believes.
The NATO Secretary General noted that China is Russia's "lifeline" that allows it to pursue its aggressive line, and it is supported by North Korea and Iran. At the same time, Rutte praised US President Donald Trump for his efforts, claiming that he is "the only one who can bring Putin to the negotiating table."
Rutte also noted the importance of "everyone continuing to put pressure on Russia and supporting real efforts aimed at ending this war."
