Turkey's Ministry of Defense reported the interception by NATO forces of a missile launched from Iran
NATO forces intercepted a ballistic missile launched presumably from Iran in Turkey's airspace.
This was reported by the Turkish Ministry of National Defense.
"A ballistic missile, presumably launched from Iran and entering Turkey's airspace, was neutralized by NATO air defense and missile defense units deployed in the Eastern Mediterranean," the ministry's statement said.
It was noted that "necessary measures are being taken decisively and without hesitation against all threats directed at Turkey's territory and airspace, and all developments in the region are being closely monitored with national security priorities in mind."
