Trump threatened Iran with the destruction of all power plants and oil wells
US President Donald Trump threatened Iran with the destruction of all power plants, oil wells, and Kharg Island in the event of a breakdown in negotiations.
He wrote about this on the social network Truth Social.
"If for any reason a deal is not reached in the near future... we will end our beautiful 'stay' in Iran by blowing up and totally destroying all of their power plants, oil wells, and Kharg Island (and maybe all desalination plants!), which we have purposely not yet 'touched'," Trump stated.
Against the backdrop of preparations for the negotiation process, the US is also preparing for a ground operation in Iran, which could last from several weeks to a couple of months. According to The Washington Post, the "highly secret military plans" of the US military are extensive: they plan to seize Kharg Island and conduct raids along the coast of the Strait of Hormuz. Experts believe that the "biggest problem" for the US will be protecting its soldiers from Iranian drones and missiles.
