Named the most popular book of 2025
The book "If All the Cats in the World Disappeared" by Japanese writer Genki Kawamura has become the most popular literary work of 2025: its circulation reached 450,000 copies, and total sales exceeded 820,000.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to TASS, this was announced by the CEO of "Eksmo" publishing house Evgeny Kapyev. According to him, interest in the book was record-breaking - in 2025, sales tripled compared to the previous year.
The second most popular book was John Strelecky's "The Cafe on the Edge of the World" with a circulation of 170,000 copies. George Clason's "The Richest Man in Babylon" came third, selling 149,000 copies.
Other bestsellers included "Gently to Yourself" by Olga Primachenko (124,000 copies) and "Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion" by Robert Cialdini (83,000 copies).
Publishing experts also noted growing reader interest in literature on psychology, medicine and health, art, and home economics. Among the most sought-after authors of 2025 are Olga Primachenko, Genki Kawamura, John Strelecky, Tatiana Muzhitskaya, and Eric Berne.
