On December 18, the exhibition of Peruvian artist Sol Alexo "The Imaginary World between the Andes and the Caucasus" opened at the Heydar Aliyev Center.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the main characters of the works at the exhibition are alpacas, which have become a symbol of the Andean plateau. In Sol Alexo's paintings, they are depicted with human emotions.

Before the opening ceremony, she told journalists that Peru is known in the world as the homeland of alpacas. These animals constitute a significant part of her work, and the artist depicts their images in a modern style.

According to the artist, she was inspired to create creative works for the exhibition by the historical monuments and attractions of Baku and Shamakhi, as well as images of alpacas in these places. While visiting these places, she experienced completely different emotions and got new ideas.

Sol Alexo, inspired by the nature of the Andes and the Caucasus mountains, depicted alpacas in both symbolic and emotional sense in her works. According to her, alpacas, depicted alone and sometimes in pairs, demonstrate a connection with the environment.

The artist added that this collection has special meaning for her and could lead to the creation of new creative works related to Azerbaijan in the future.

Then the guests got acquainted with the exhibition "The Imaginary World between the Andes and the Caucasus".

The exposition presents various works by Sol Alexo. Among them are paintings created by the artist specifically for the Baku exhibition.

Sol Alexo, who has participated in more than 60 local and international exhibitions, has been interested in art since her youth. Inspired by the nature of the Andes and the Caucasus mountains, she emphasizes that art acts as a bridge between cultures, using the generalized image of alpacas, which are independent of borders and live both in the Andes and in the Caucasus mountains. In her works, alpacas are not just a storyline, but also have symbolic and emotional meaning.
