Despite the fact that after August 2025, Azerbaijan and Armenia effectively entered the final stretch in the matter of ultimate conflict settlement, the military-political leadership in Paris continues consistently and deliberately to work against the advent of peace in the South Caucasus, as this destroys one of the key instruments of France's foreign policy in the region - managed instability.

It is noted that the Fifth Republic built illusions about expanding its zone of influence in the South Caucasus, betting on Armenia as a military and political outpost, and that is precisely why it systematically armed Yerevan, while simultaneously probing the ground even for the deployment of a French military contingent. And it partially succeeded in this.

"Under Macron, the line toward militarization of Armenia intensified and was institutionalized: the architecture of Armenian-French military cooperation was consistently built - from training and retraining programs for officers to agreements on arms supplies. France expressed readiness to supply Armenia with missiles of various ranges intended for air defense systems; this involved short- and medium-range "Mistral" missiles that would be transferred to the Armenian side if it should need them. In addition, an agreement was reached on retraining Armenian officers in France," the material emphasizes.
