Former president of Iran and ex-head of Foreign Ministry placed under house arrest?

Reports have circulated on social media that former Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and former Foreign Minister Javad Zarif were detained and placed under house arrest.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this is according to the Telegram channel "Free Iran".

It was noted that they are suspected of collaborating with Americans and Israelis.

In turn, the news portal On News Media, citing an informed source from Hassan Rouhani's circle, denied the news of his detention. Another portal - Asrkhabar - also denied the arrest of Rouhani and Zarif, citing a source, and reported that the spread of such fake news is aimed at creating division in society. According to the publication, Rouhani's office will soon publish a statement on this matter.

Hassan Rouhani served as President of Iran for two consecutive terms - from 2013 to 2021, Zarif served in his government as Minister of Foreign Affairs during this period, and later - under the current President Masoud Pezeshkian - held the position of Vice President.
