Leila Aliyeva met with the special representative of the WHO Regional Office for Europe
On December 18, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of IDEA Public Union Leyla Aliyeva met with Robb Butler, Special Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) European Regional Office on Climate and Health.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to AZERTAG, at the meeting, Leyla Aliyeva was presented with a special award from the World Health Organization for her effective activities in the field of climate and health, active participation and educational work within the framework of COP29, as well as support for the activities of the WHO Pan-European Commission on Health and Climate.
During the conversation, detailed information was provided about IDEA Public Union's projects aimed at reducing the negative consequences of climate change, and opportunities for cooperation between WHO and Azerbaijan in this field were discussed.
The parties exchanged views on the potential impact of the Caspian Sea level decline on ecology and human health, discussed possibilities for implementing joint initiatives and strengthening international calls in this direction, including the prospects of Azerbaijan joining the WHO "Healthy Cities" network.
Additionally, issues of clean air impact on human health, reduction of air pollution, and strengthening educational activities in this area were considered.
