Media: Israel created militia groups in the Gaza Strip to fight HAMAS
Israel supports four militia groups in the Gaza Strip that intend to fight against the Palestinian movement HAMAS.
This is reported by Sky News, citing one of the militia leaders Hossam al-Astal.
Israel, in particular, supplies food to the militia base. The militiamen "provide basic medical and educational support to approximately 30 families," said al-Astal.
"We are all for a 'new Gaza'. Soon we will gain full control over the Gaza Strip and unite under one roof," the militiaman told the TV channel.
The other groups are led by Yasir Abu Shabab, Rami Khalas, and Ashraf al-Mansi. The militia forces operate in areas under Israeli control, beyond the so-called "yellow line" - the border controlled by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip. Al-Astal's headquarters is less than 700 meters from the nearest army outpost, the channel clarifies.
Israel and HAMAS agreed to a ceasefire on October 10. After that, the sides repeatedly accused each other of violating the agreements. The US stated there was a threat of disrupting the peace agreements due to HAMAS actions, but the Palestinian movement rejected the accusations.
