China releases humanoid robot at smartphone price
Beijing-based company Noetix Robotics has launched an affordable humanoid robot Bumi, designed for home use, reports South China Morning Post.
The robot, standing at 94 centimeters tall and weighing 12 kilograms, is available for pre-order at a price of 9,988 yuan (about 2,400 manats - ed.) - the average price of a smartphone.
Bumi marks the entry of humanoid robots into the consumer market, combining scientific development with mass accessibility.
The robot is designed for educational and family purposes, capable of walking on two legs and performing dance movements. The battery charge lasts for 1-2 hours of operation.
