Iran will not comply with the demand of US President Donald Trump to open the Strait of Hormuz by April 7 at 20:00 (April 8 at 5:00 Baku time - ed.).

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) citing sources.

The authors of the article noted that during his second presidential term, Trump twice set deadlines for reaching a deal with Iran, stating that he would attack the country if its leaders did not comply with the conditions, and then carried out military operations.

"Now, as everyone from US Vice President JD Vance to senior Middle Eastern intelligence officials pushes for a final step - a ceasefire - Iranian officials are telling intermediaries that they expect the same situation to repeat," the journal reports.

According to some American officials, "the gap between the positions of the US and Iran is too large to close by the deadline" set by the American leader. At the same time, Iranian officials told intermediaries that they expect US attacks on the Islamic Republic to continue.

Also, in their opinion, Israel will carry out airstrikes aimed at eliminating senior Iranian officials "even if negotiations with the US move forward."
