The mayor of Manavgat, Niyazi Nefi Kara, has been arrested in the Turkish province of Antalya.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Haber Global TV channel, Kara was detained on July 4 as part of an anti-corruption investigation regarding suspicions of bribery in the Manavgat municipality.
Along with him, 25 other suspects were detained.
Today, July 8, Kara appeared before the court, which decided to arrest him.
His deputy Mehmet Engin Tuter was also arrested, who was detained with a box of baklava that contained 110,000 euros in cash.
