It has become known how long Europe will last without the US in case of an attack

European arms stockpiles could be depleted within weeks in case of an attack without US support, Bloomberg reports.
According to the agency, "in case of an offensive, ammunition in Europe could run out within days, while the rearmament process could take years." The article emphasizes that Europe heavily depends on the US in terms of communications, intelligence, logistics, as well as strategic management and firepower within NATO. It is noted that the continent's forward defense, suffering from a shortage of personnel, air defense systems, and ammunition, could withstand a hypothetical Russian offensive for no more than several weeks without American assistance.
Bloomberg reports that over the past three decades, key European NATO countries have reduced their armed forces by almost half. Currently, "NATO countries from Greece to Iceland have about 1.5 million active-duty military personnel," the article states.
The agency also mentions that the European Union intends to allocate 150 billion euros in loans and allow member states to invest an additional 650 billion euros in defense. Furthermore, the United Kingdom plans to redistribute development aid funds for military needs, while Germany intends to review constitutional borrowing restrictions to accelerate rearmament.
