Ilham Aliyev's Visit to Bishkek: Haber Global Covers Meeting with Pashinyan and Key Topics of Negotiations

Turkish TV channel Haber Global is extensively covering the visit of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Bishkek to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit. In its reports, the channel covers the key events of the trip, one of which was the bilateral meeting between the Azerbaijani leader and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

As reported by Haber Global, the meeting between the leaders of the two countries took place immediately after Ilham Aliyev's arrival in the capital of Kyrgyzstan. The sides noted the historic significance of the initialling of the peace agreement at the Washington Summit held a year ago and summed up the results of the normalisation of bilateral relations during this period.

The channel's broadcast emphasised that the negotiations included detailed discussions of specific economic and practical fruits of the peace process. In particular, the sides addressed the issues of export of Azerbaijani petroleum products to Armenia, as well as the transit of grain and other cargo from third countries to Armenia through the territory of Azerbaijan.

Haber Global places particular emphasis on the discussion of the Zangezur Corridor (TRIPP), which holds strategic importance for the entire region and the Turkic world. The leaders examined practical steps for the implementation of this infrastructure project.

In addition, Turkish journalists highlighted Azerbaijan's key condition for signing an official peace treaty — the need to amend Armenia's constitution to remove territorial claims. The reports note that following the negotiations, both sides reaffirmed their intention to continue regular bilateral contacts to strengthen lasting peace and stability in the region.
