Iran's Big Mistake: Is the Region Heading for an Arab-Persian Confrontation?
The risk of the current situation spiraling out of control is high. We call on Iran to refrain from attacks on targets in Arab countries, as we know that the expansion of the conflict does not serve the interests of Iranians and will only further escalate the situation.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Baku TV, this was stated by the spokesperson of the Secretary General of the League of Arab States (LAS) Jamal Rushdi.
It is noted that this warning is not just a statement. In turn, the assistant to the head of the organization, Hossam Zaki, also reported that the idea of creating a joint Armed Forces is being discussed.
According to him, back in 2015, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi first proposed the creation of a pan-Arab military force. Now Iran's missile and drone attacks have brought this issue back to the forefront. It is expected that the matter will be raised again for discussion at the next LAS meeting.
The question remains open: what position do the individual Arab countries themselves take on this matter? The report sheds light on these and other questions.
