In Thailand, a son accidentally ran over his mother during a pilgrimage trip

In Thailand, a family pilgrimage ended in tragedy. This was reported by The Thaiger publication.
The incident occurred in Isan province on July 11. According to media reports, a family of three people, a 75-year-old mother with her 47-year-old son and 55-year-old daughter, went to a temple during extended holidays. Due to the large number of pilgrims, they were unable to park their car near the holy site. The man dropped off his sister and mother on the roadside - there they planned to wait for monks who were supposed to pass by and collect donations. Then the Thai man drove away to turn around. As he approached the place where his sister and mother were standing, the driver accidentally pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake and hit the elderly woman. His sister managed to jump aside.
They tried to resuscitate the elderly woman, but to no avail.
