In India, a lion attacked a five-year-old boy and ate him

In the Indian state of Gujarat, a tragic incident occurred that claimed the life of a small child. A five-year-old boy, playing alone on the edge of a forest, was attacked by a lion that dragged him into the thicket. This was reported by The Times of India.
The incident took place in the Amreli district of Gujarat state. According to the publication, the predator's victim was a child from a family of seasonal migrants who had recently arrived in the region to work on agricultural lands. The attack happened around three o'clock in the afternoon when the boy was playing near the forest thickets while his parents were resting in a hut. Hearing the desperate cries of the child, relatives and other villagers immediately rushed to help. Forest department officials promptly arrived at the scene.
Forest officials emphasized an important fact: the area where the attack occurred is a natural habitat for wild animals. They noted that farmers who hire temporary workers are obligated to warn them about the potential danger from wild animals. The specialists also added that the fieldwork season coincides with the lions' mating period, during which the predators' behavior becomes significantly more aggressive.
The search operation took four hours, during which forestry officials found the boy's remains. They also tracked down the lion and took samples of its excrement for examination. In connection with the incident, foresters urged both locals and visitors to exercise increased vigilance when in or near forested areas.
