The court arrested the ex-director of the Moscow Theater of Satire Mamedali Agaev

Tagansky District Court arrested the former director of the "Satire" Theater Mamedali Agaev.

Agaev has been charged under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code (fraud on an especially large scale) and faces up to 10 years in prison. The accounts of Agaev and his close relatives have been frozen.

On Thursday, August 28, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk, reported on the joint detention with regional FSB officers of the former director of one of the capital's theaters on suspicion of fraud. Later it became known that the detainee was Agaev, the former director of the Theater of Satire from 1992 to 2021.
