In China, a maglev platform wagon was accelerated to 700 km/h in two seconds
Engineers from China have successfully accelerated a multi-ton platform car on electromagnetic propulsion to 700 km/h in just two seconds.
As BAKU.WS reports, citing China Central Television, the scientists have thereby set a world record for such structures.
The maglev platform reached the specified speed on a 400-meter test line and then stopped.
The technology was developed by specialists from the Defense Science and Technology University, located in the city of Changsha (Hunan province, central part of China). Research in the field of magnetic levitation took 10 years.
The development opens up new possibilities for the advancement of vacuum transport on electromagnetic propulsion and offers new methods for launching and testing aerospace technology, the TV channel informed.
