EU prepares counterstrike against the US

If the European Union and the United States do not reach a trade agreement by August 7, and Donald Trump imposes new tariffs on goods from the EU, the European Union will respond with tariffs on American exports worth over 90 billion euros. Cars, auto parts, and aircraft from the US will be subject to customs duties of up to 30%, reports BAKU.WS with reference to the Bild Telegram channel.
In mid-July, Trump stated that from August 1, almost all European goods would be subject to a 30% tariff, and steel and aluminum - possibly up to 50%.
The EU has prepared a plan of retaliatory measures in case the negotiations, which are now taking place on an emergency basis, fail. European Commissioner for Trade Maroš Šefčovič is actively cooperating with US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick. In Brussels, August 1 is considered the deadline.
According to Bild, the EU admits that an agreement may only be reached after an escalation of the conflict. Therefore, the EU's retaliatory tariffs are planned for August 7, to use the time from August 1 to August 7 for possible negotiations.
