European Union member states have agreed to expand sanctions against Iran to include individuals responsible for the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

As reported by Al Jazeera, this was announced by the EU's foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas.

According to her, at the meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg, she called for strengthening the bloc's naval mission in the Middle East, which currently provides protection for vessels in the Red Sea.
