Donald Trump extended the sanctions imposed against Russia for one year
US President Donald Trump has extended for one year the validity period of a number of sanctions previously imposed against Russia in connection with the situation in Ukraine.
As BAKU.WS reports with reference to TASS, this follows from a notification submitted to the Federal Register - a collection of official documents of the American government.
The matter concerns restrictions against the Russian Federation introduced by the administration of the 46th US President Joe Biden in February 2022, by the Trump administration in September 2018 (during his first presidential term), as well as by the administration of the 44th US President Barack Obama in March and December 2014.
As emphasized in the document, all these restrictive measures "must remain in force after March 6, 2026."
