China tested an anti-aging injection

A group of researchers from China has successfully tested an experimental injection capable of slowing down the aging processes in the body.
The results of the work are published in the journal Cell.
The created drug activates the immune system, targeting it to destroy senescent cells. This is what they call aging cells that have lost the ability to divide but still persist or accumulate in tissues, disrupting their function. The introduction of genetically modified stem cells resistant to signs of aging made it possible to achieve a pronounced rejuvenating effect.
According to the authors of the study, during the 12-week tests, there was an improvement in the condition of the brain, memory, muscle tissue, reproductive function, and a number of internal organs. There was also an external anti-aging effect: the skin and hair of the subjects showed signs of recovery. Scientists estimate this effect as equivalent to "rejuvenation" by approximately seven years.
The researchers emphasize that the work is at an early stage, and larger clinical trials are needed to confirm the effectiveness and safety of the approach.
