President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan recited a poem titled "Shusha is waiting for us" (Şuşa gözləyir bizi) during a meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Since the Turkish leader did not name the author of the work, this sparked interest in the identity of the poet.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Oxu.Az, the author of the poem is honored journalist and publicist Vasif Samedov.
Vasif Samedov was born on January 22, 1950, in the Masally district. Having worked in the field of journalism for many years, he received the title of honored journalist and gained wide recognition through his publicistic activities.
It should be noted that Vasif Samedov is the father of Arif Samedov, the Head of the Protocol Service of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Honored journalist and publicist Vasif Samedov passed away on April 29, 2024.
