What problems do skin rashes indicate?

Yellowing of the skin may indicate various diseases, such as liver problems. Dermatovenerologist, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Natalia Gryazeva told "Gazeta.Ru" about this.
"Changes in color, structure, and the appearance of rashes may indicate pathologies of the liver, kidneys, gastrointestinal tract, endocrine or immune system. For example, yellowing of the skin and mucous membranes indicates impaired function of the liver or bile ducts, and a rash in the form of small hemorrhages may be a sign of blood or vascular diseases," the expert said.
According to the doctor, skin manifestations often become one of the first signals of internal diseases, as the skin is closely connected with the functioning of all organs and systems of the body.
The dermatovenerologist stated that some chronic and acute internal diseases manifest with specific skin symptoms.
"In diabetes mellitus, dry skin, itching, and a tendency to pustular rashes are often observed, while thyroid diseases can cause swelling, changes in pigmentation, and brittle hair," explained Gryazeva.
The doctor said that skin manifestations can also be the first signs of autoimmune diseases.
"For example, with lupus erythematosus or scleroderma, characteristic rashes, redness, and skin thickening appear. Therefore, any unusual changes on the skin require careful attention and may serve as a reason for a comprehensive examination of the body," shared the cosmetologist.
