Unexpected Discovery About Button Mushrooms by American Oncologists

A study by American scientists from the City of Hope Cancer Center in California has revealed amazing properties of common button mushrooms in fighting cancer. Researchers found that the extract of these mushrooms effectively enhances the body's immune defense and suppresses the development of malignant tumors.

The study revealed that unique polysaccharides, particularly β-glucans, found in button mushrooms, can significantly enhance the body's immune response. Initial experiments on laboratory mice showed impressive results: substantial improvement in immune response and notable increase in T-cell activity.

Subsequent clinical trials involving cancer patients confirmed the promising results. Eight patients with prostate cancer showed significant positive changes in immune system function, fully corresponding to the data obtained from animal experiments.

Particularly impressive results were achieved when combining mushroom extract with modern immunotherapy. Patients receiving the combined treatment showed higher life expectancy and better recovery rates.

Despite the encouraging results, specialists urge caution and recommend consulting with a doctor before including mushrooms in the diet. Research continues, and scientists expect new discoveries in this promising direction.
