A team of researchers from the Netherlands Institute of Neuroscience has presented sensational results from their study of near-death experiences. The scientific work, published in Nature Neuroscience, could revolutionize modern understanding of the nature of consciousness.

The large-scale study, covering 70 clinical cases of patients who survived cardiac arrest, revealed phenomena that challenge traditional scientific concepts about the connection between consciousness and biological processes.

Particular attention was drawn to a 2022 case documented by cardiac surgeon Lloyd W. Rudy. A patient, declared clinically dead after cardiac arrest, spontaneously returned to life after 34 minutes without receiving any medical assistance.

After recovery, the patient demonstrated a phenomenal ability to reproduce events that occurred during their clinical death. With less than 2% error, they stated the timing of surgeons' actions, recounted the contents of a nurse's email, and even described a conversation between anesthesiologists.

The study's leader, Dr. Marten van der Linden, notes that 89% of participants were able to reproduce information obtained during the absence of brain activity. In 63% of cases, their accounts completely matched operation video recordings.

Professor Emily Krauss from Oxford University calls for caution in interpreting the results, emphasizing the need for further research.
